I must admit I don’t usually shop at Mothercare and the reason is that the store near me is very tiny and it is hard to get inside with the pushchair or even impossible to go on the first floor by the stairs. This is not the case in huge Edmonton branch that is spacious and equipped with all the facilities you may need during pregnancy and later for your babies and toddlers (!)
Starting with Costa coffee on the entrance, through Clarks Kids with baby shoes, Pixi Foto photography studio, baby changing and feeding facilities and even 3D scanning Babybond Ultrasound for expecting mothers. There is nursery showroom where you can see how the cots will look like with all add ons rather than trying to imaging it. You can also try the pushchairs in the terrain on pushchair test track.
Upstairs in the store there is reading and play area for children so you can shop in peace while kids are busy exploring the windmill and the castle created for them to enjoy.
There is a section with Early Learning Centre toys including some of my daughters’ long time favourites that are very sturdy and will survive more than one child’s childhood: egg & spoon race, skittles, skipping ropes, play food and xylophone just to mention few.
Edmonton Mothercare store is not only a shop but also a community centre with Mumspace area where lots of activities for mums, babies & children are taking place such as classes, baby masage and diddi dance among others.
Really can’t thing of anything else I would from the baby store…
It is also a very good place to get a new baby gifts… anything from cuddly toys, baby essentialist through special gifts like pendants with baby finger prints or simply universal gift cards.
Edmonton’s staff is very helpful and friendly. Together with my older daughter we were way to early for the event so we got a chance to sniff around like normal custormers and I was nicely surprised how good everthing was. Also some of the prices were better / lower than I expected, another sign I should shop at Mothercare more often…
Other thing that surprised me positively was that Mothercare’s staff has been also trained not only to fit the baby seat in the car but to fit maternity bras as well, yay! :)
So next time you are planning trip to Edmonton’s Ikea don’t forget to check out also the Mothercare, it is just around the corner, across the Tesco’s parking lot.

With thanks Mothercare and Jess & Laura from Diffusion PR for the invitation to the event.
Years since I went to Mothercare, but you’re bringing back fond memories!
I visited there on last Saturday to take some teddy bears for my kid; actually the place was like a paradise.
