Sugar-free Acacia Honey & Almond Granola

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 g rolled oats (chunky ones)
  • 12 tbs acacia honey or other mild local honey
  • 6 tbs Carotino oil
  • 200 g almond flakes
  • 100 g sunflower seeds

EQUIPMENT

  • two large baking trays lined with non-stick Teflon sheets

METHOD

  1. Combine all ingredients, except almonds and sunflower seeds, together, spread on baking tray and bake in the oven preheated to  150°C (302°F) for about 15 minutes, stirring few times in between.
  2. Then stir in also nuts and seeds and bake for another 15 minutes.
  3. Let it cool down before transferring to the airtight storage container.

NOTES

Granola taste good with some milk or natural yoghurt and some chopped fresh fruits, such as bananas.

Add more honey for sweeter taste and more clusters.

Almond flakes can be easily replaced with chopped almonds or even different nuts, such as hazelnuts.

    Happy Cook – This is my first granola so I’m not sure, but all ingredients separate can be stored in cupboard for ages so I guess after baking they are even longer lasting.

  11. I adore granola b ut have never made it myself!! I ma hoping that the house we are trying to buy works out – then I get a DOUBLE OVEN!! Plus it will be a decent size and big enough to take my big silicone mat – I will make granola to celebrate :)

  14. Lovely recipe and one of literally thousands! What other food product is there that can be added to so many different recipes! Eat honey and feel fitter and healthier by swapping it for sugar and sugar substitutes.
