Make cross cut on the top of each chestnut and place them on baking tray.
Roast for about 30 minutes in 200°C (392°F).
Remove shell and thin brown skin, that covering kernel, before eating.

What a coincidence, I just tried roasting chestnuts for the first time this weekend. They were pretty good.
hmmm… this reminds me of my winter holiday in Italy a few years ago. i was eating roasted chestnuts on the Spanish steps.
